Yamagoya Ramen @ Publika

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of Japanese Ramen (In fact all kind of noodles). Many fancy a bowl of pork based soup with their noodles, claiming that its the original flavour and irreplaceable. In my case, it doesn't matter whether its pork or chicken, I love it as long as it creates the perfect explosion of flavours.

I've had enough cookies and bak gua back at home so I decided to come back to KL on the third day of Chinese New Year to do some CNY visits. The boyf was working and I decided to drive around in the traffic-free city.

I went to Publika, Solaris Dutamas around lunch time. Many of the shops were closed because of the CNY break. It took me 30 minutes to decide what to go for (women!)  until I came across Yamagoya Ramen!
The bestie and I wanted to try it a while ago but the crowd was mad and we couldn't get any. Lucky for me, it was less crowded when I walked pass and immediately, I took my seat outdoor enjoying the beautiful weather.

Yamagoya Ramen  w Tamago.

Gone through the menu quickly and I ordered their signature Yamagoya Ramen with extra Tamago. The service was great and my ramen was served within 10 minutes. Disappointment kicked in before eating by looking at the Tamago, it was obviously overcooked. Why they can never do it right? Dig into the good looking bowl, the flavour was good but nothing extraordinary. I liked the char siew but there was only two slices of them. Noodles were too soft for my personal preference. :(

My meal cost around RM30 including a glass of green tea. It was a 'so-so' experience for me. I probably will never queue for average quality ramen at such price.
Now that they opened another outlet in Fahrenheit 6th floor, Im wondering if its gonna be the same?

Or maybe I should just stick to my favourite ramen at Marutama :)

The Royal Flush @ Oasis Ara Damansara

Royal Flush, a poker hands of five cards that is ranked highest - The lucky bastard.

How is the 9th day of Chinese Snake Year treating you?
I hope the never-ending drinking, gambling, home visiting  session is feeding you both mentally and physically well.

Now if you didn't catch a good hands of royal flush during the game..

One of my favourite pub+grub chain, Tom, Dick & Harry's recently launch another surprise outlet for you diners in Kuala Lumpur! The Royal Flush, emphasize on serving you the pinnacle of Chinese fine dining, have open their doors for you in Oasis Ara Damansara. That one eyes catching building that uses strong Chinese cultural design. If you're in the right area, it is impossible for you to missed it.

The grand opening that brought both close friends and suppliers happened a week before our Chinese new year celebration with massive traditional Chinese performance which I thought was 'WOW'! The boys definitely know their trick of throwing a hell-of-party, it was unacceptably NICE.

I went back for a second round of food tasting with my lovely girls few days later,
a little pre-lousang dinner before the CNY.

Rounds of Cloudy Bay started as we arrived earlier than the rest.
I find this photo really, really funny. Look at Tim's face. :P

Serving us the fine dining of Chinese cuisine, we started with a combination basket of Dim Sum that contains Siu Mai, Xiao Long Bao and Fish ball. The siu mai and xiao long bao was pretty decent while I passed my fishball to others. Nothing bad but it's just that I don't much fancy it.

Twin Cold Combination - Abalone slices & Oysters.
The Abalone was good with the touch of sweet sauce and I didn't take the dried oyster. But the girls said it was great.

One of my favourite dish of the night, Grilled Cod.
Well marinated with honey barbecue sauce, it was tasssssty! The only part is that the portion was so small! But then again, good stuff are meant to lingers. :P

Grilled Pork Ribs.
The big piece that takes me 20 minutes to chew on it. I forgot the word diet and nom on the juicy yet prefect flavoured bites, almost ended up biting my own fingers!

Asparagus.
Simple yet delightful. Second round of dining experience there, I kept it and waited for my next dish to come to go along with, the bacon fried rice topped with Abalone. It was perfect together. :x

Came to the last two dish of the night, Double Boiled Bird's Nest and Glutinous Rice Dumpling.
I would say it's the best combination of dessert ever! Everyone love bird's nest, and the right amount of sweetness that explode in mouth, perfection!

Sorry peeps, just focus on the Mochi.
It was some technical mistake that someone's Abalone flew off to the dessert plate.

The food at The Royal Flush was great,
not to mention that the interior that made a significant plus to diner experience.
Both night was excellent for me with the fun companion and if you're interested of going for the menu above, it's RM 1200.00 for ten pax.

But of course, ala carte menu is available for your choice as well!

Viva la Circus!

Some days ago, I received something like this, a media invite to the launch of C.I.R.C.U.S.

Untitled

Circus? So excited because I thought I was invited to a newest party organizer in town that I will be welcome by clowns, acrobats, or maybe trained animals and etc.

Little did I know, instead of throwing fireballs around, I was welcomed by a pail of funky props with photo booth along with a glass of bubbly in a modern setup bistro and classy cocktail lounge. :O *these are definitely more exciting than monkeys*

No, you do not walk into a amphitheatre or a cage.
What you'll need to do is look for is a gorgeous place located at one of you most favourite mall in KL, Pavilion - Fashion Avenue.
Circus, is positioned at the forefront of Pavilion KL's Jalan Raja Chulan entrance (opposite Coffee Bean/Spazzio in case you still don't know).

The previously known as Al-Amar Lebanese Cuisine has now been rebranded to the Eatertainment Group, having a portfolio expanding with Circus, a modern bistro and cocktail lounge targeting people who loves gathering, relax, mix, mingle, great food and drinks, or as simple as me - lovin' the FUN!

Boasting a stylish interior which transports visitors into a decadent world of glamour and escapism at the entrance, Ciscus is equipped with mood-altering lighting effects that metamorphose the decoration and atmosphere from a modern, casual eatery to a trendy cosmopolitan dinner and drinks which promise to entice your cravings at anytime.

Soothing music was played and colour at the bar switches randomly changes visitor's mood immediately into a relax state.

I adore the overall set up and decoration, a combination of rich contrast of artistic and elegant elements gives people a funky yet sophisticated experience in a restaurant. Artworks on the wall, statues, even the dining tables!

Lovin' the art paints hanged around Circus, definitely a WOW (Word of Wisdom)  effect to the visitors :)

So with the usual suspect of party people and partners, we most definitely enjoyed this finest evening with the delightful drinks and canapes served by Circus. Can't wait to go back soon to try out their menu!
We even found horses in three lunar cycles! So I'm the youngest; since I'm the 12 years old ones, guessing some of them might be 24...and etc. :P

I think "Mr. Jason Mraz" and I share the same age!. Who knows?

Bali Part III; Tanah Lot Sea Temple

So we're back to the story in Bali.

Out of 10 perfect days, we picked a gloomy day to journey to the legendary spot - Tanah Lot Sea Temple.
I've seen enough photos from friends and so, I shall be there to witness the beauty.

P1060430

Up to million of  tourists visit make it one of the most iconic tourism spot in Bali.

P1060435

P1270874

Upon the walk to the temple, we walk through a set of Balinese market souvenir shops which cover each side of the path down to the sea.

P1270923

Beautiful hand craft souvenirs and products are selling at affordable price, let's not forget about the fun of bargain too.

P1270929

Besides tourist, I realize there were actually more domestic visitors who are there to pray for the celebration of Kuningan. Did a post about it that you might be interested.

P1270917

P1060448

P1270933

The temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. It literally floats, during high tide but when tide is low, people are allowed to walk to the temple.

The word of Tanah Lot is consisted of two meaning.
Tanah - as a reef looking like a gili or isle.
Lot - sea.
So Tanah Lot means the small island floating on the sea.

P1270898

Growing  up by the beach literally couldn't stop my love to the magnificent view in front me. Attempt to take a picture of sea wave hitting on also, create a historical scene that I can never let go; the wave brought me with them.

P1270878

Exactly this one. I seem to forgot how strong sea wave could be and right after I snapped the photo, as the water flows up and go, it curled me along. Fell really hard on the rock and millions of thought came up,  all I had in mind was - this is it, so long everyone.

P1270881

But there I was, completely wet and save. #thankgodi'mstillalive

P1270883

Beware kids, make sure you're standing at the right spot.
